ift the Children, in conjunction with the Child Abuse Prevention Center, provides training and development based on three core principles:

  • Competency-based Training: Training and technical assistance should be geared toward building the knowledge, skills and behaviors needed to provide quality family and child support services.
  • Tailored curricula: The adage that “one size fits all” is not true for training.  While the concepts and information may be the same for two different organizations, the examples, delivery method, language, and key objectives must be tailored to the needs and culture of those being trained.  We assess these individual needs prior to any training workshop.
  • Long Term Access: Our support goes beyond the delivery of a workshop.  Lift the Children strives to build long-term partnerships by making our staff, resources, and materials available beyond the training period.

Our training and technical assistance, delivered both at our Sacramento, California headquarters and at international locations convenient to our partners, helps our colleagues develop and replicate innovative child and family services.  We are dedicated to helping child welfare professionals develop new skills and expertise that will keep families together and children safe.
